Despite persistant rain and cold temperatures, David and Chloe Troth and Stuart, Graca and David Craft all achieved personal best times at the Chalgrove 10k today, while a respectable effort was also put in by veteran trooper, Alan Thomas.
The race wasn't without incident, with David Craft spraining an ankle near the end of the race and David Troth pulling a hamstring, but as to be expected, neither used their injuries as an excuse to throw in the towel.
The organisers of the Charlgrove Festival once again deserve a pat on the back for putting together an enjoyable day out, though it was a shame that we didn't have the glorious sunshine of last year. The only small gripe being the bottleneck at the start of the race which stopped runners from getting into their stride from the off. That said we all had a great day out and have every intention of coming back in force next year.
