This year's Watlington Winter 10k saw another fine performance from the IWCA AC team.
In a field of 137 mainly seasoned fell runners, veteran Kevin Brackett came in 22nd place with a time of 49:18. This was an especially impressive effort given that this was his first attempt at the challenging course - one that makes full use of the steepest sections of the Chiltern hills.
17 year old Peter Wright was the next one of our team across the line with a very credible time of 50:53 - smashing his previous Watlington 10k time and earning him 26th place.
Stuart Craft added 30 seconds to his Summer Watlington 10k time finishing 42nd in 53:37, while Mark Franks bounced back from injury to claim 67th spot in 58:58. Graça Craft concluded our team's performance by comfortably finishing the course in 97th place with a decent time of 1hr 6mins.
The sunny morning was nicely rounded off with a very welcome free pint at the local pub curtesy of the race organisers, The Watlington Hill Bashers - bringing a perfect end to a great morning's work
Thanks as usual to Angela and Peter for helping out with transport and for their enthusiastic support.
