Our biggest supporter, Angela Craft, was rushed to hospital at 3am on Friday for the third time in a month with breathing difficulties. Angela, who has type 2 diabetes, had an exploratory heart operation yesterday which went well. Thankfully no problems were found with her arteries or heart valves, but she is being kept in the JR Hospital for observation while doctors try to work out the cause of her problem.
Angela, who along with hubby Peter, provides regular transport to events for our athletes (stubbornly refusing any fuel money). Angela's voice is also routinely heard at the finish line of races encouraging our runners on. Angela (and Peter), both pensioners, have also been very generous in donating funds to the club over the last few years.
I'm sure that everyone involved with the club will join us in wishing Angela a speedy recovery and we hope to see her back on her feet (and yelling her head off at running competitions) as soon as possible.
