The bitter, freezing wind cutting across Cutteslowe Park added flavour to this morning's Oxford Parkrun and along with the boggy, slippery conditions added a minute or two to running times. Braving the cold amongst the hundred or so other asorted runners were the IWCA contingent of Stuart, Peter and Emilija, seen here post-race warming up in the car.
Regardless the bad weather, Peter, who came 13th out of 159 runners and 2nd in his age category, managed his best time this year of 21:22. Stuart was just over 2 mins off his best time clocking in at 22:42 and Emilija showed great heart battling against the adverse conditions to finish in 33:28 just 2:22 shy of her PB which is not bad considering that she has been unable to attend training for the last week and a half.
Over in London, Mark flew the IWCA AC flag, finishing the Oakhill Parkrun in 22:31.
Thanks to Peter and Angela for the lift and for standing out in the cold to give their support.
